The Delta planer works great . All controls and adjustments work excellent. The shipping of product was fast!I would recommend this item to a friend.

After a month of building a table, I did the big test with oak, ash, and some mahogany. Did not like the results. Had many small divits in the softer wood. I followed the instruction for cleaning and setup to the T when I set the machine up. Took apart the machine again and removed the cutters. Oil everywhere. Following the instructions does not clean all the oil from the cutter head. You must remove the cutter retainers and the cutters to completely degrease the machine. I used Acetone in a well ventilated space. Cleaned everthing one cutter at a time. Recut the same wood with results that were just great for a small compact planer. I did find that one of the clamp bars was extending past the knife edge causing problem with the divits in the earlier test. The oil didn`t help either in the first test. Knives where good. A little lack of attention to details by the person who installed the knives. All boards were measured prior to the cuts to verify the calibration of the dials and the depth of cut indicator. Very pleased with calibration. Did have some snipe on the softer wood, but I am sure as my technique gets better, snipe will be reduced to almost nothing. Dust collection was surprisingly good. I used the 4" dust collector and necked it down to 2.5" to match my Shop Vac hose. Impressive dust collection. Very litttle chip on floor and very little chip left in the machine. Good product. As always, Tools-Plus has the best price. Pros:
