You can't say that Delta doesn't listen. Rather than just adding a few upgrades to their previous design, they decided to completely re-engineer their new X5 drum sander. The resulting machine, now known as the 31-260X, proves that Delta is no follower. Featuring a best-in-class 1-1/2 HP motor spinnig a 6-groove serpentine belt, the 31-260X drum sander will produce the results of drum sanders twice as expensive.

Delta's 31-260X open-ended drum sander is the perfect sander for small shop use. A sturdy welded steel frame supports the drum and conveyor assembly for minimal deflection. The sander is powered by a 1-1/2 HP 120 volt TEFC induction motor for smooth sanding. The conveyor belt is powered by a 1/30 HP 90 volt variable speed DC motor for adjustable feed rate. The table raises and lowers on four connected, precision machined screws for acurate table adjustment.. The machine is seated atop a welded steel stand wit provisions for storage inside. The Delta 31-260X sands stock 18" wide in one pass, and 36" in two passes. Two drum speeds are provided for optimal finishing with provisions for mounting of a PTO shaft for sanding drums and other accessories. Thanks Sal, I guess you have a sweet spot for this machine.
