Delta 31-735A 6" Belt/12" Disc Finishing Machine
The Delta 31-735A is one of the finest Belt and disc units ever offered. The machine is standard equipped with features that make it indispensable in any shop, large or small, wood or metal. The 6" by 48" belt sander is constructed of one massive iron casting for unusually smooth operation. Back panel is easily removed to allow changes of belts and usage of the rear of the belt for sanding contour work pieces. The top guard may be removed to sand concave items such as arcs, table legs and any other curvature that may require finishing. The belt unit can be positioned horizontally, vertically and any angle in between to accommodate usage of the table for small parts, horizontal for sanding of large, flat pieces or sanding of work piece edges. The table on the belt sander is a precision machined iron casting with built in bevel scale. A miter gauge slot has been ground into the table to aid in finishing angles with a gauge. The side of the drive drum on the belt sander is covered with a metal cap. This can be removed for the attachment of a dust tray and horizontal sanding drum for ease of finishing any type of work piece. The entire unit bolts directly to the disc sander frame, which is constructed of a massive cast iron piece. The disc mounts directly to the drum shaft with excellent enclosure to capture any dust made during operation. The disc table is of unusual design, in addition to the standard equipment miter gauge slot, the table has been extended out ward not only for better stock support, but for accommodation of a circle sanding jig, making the sander extremely versatile. The entire unit is mounted above a welded steel stand. The stand features a wide front mounted door for easy access to the inner workings of the machine. The inside of the unit features an integral dust collection impeller with duct connection. This allows the sander to be operated independent of the shop collection system. The base features built in casters for ease of movement around the shop floor. The entire unit is powered by a 11/2 HP, 230 volt, 60 Hz, 3,450 RPM, single phase TEFC motor for smooth performance and exceptional power.
