This past weekend while working on a couple of projects in my garage I managed to cover nearly the whole place in sawdust. Now I have a detached garage so with my frequent trips back and forth from the house I tracked snow all over the place, as well as sawdust that was stuck to my shoes all over the place, both the garage and in my house. Luckily my wife was away at her mother's so I had time to clean up, unfortunately my wet/dry vac had kicked the bucket and I had not gotten around to picking up a new one yet. I was reluctant to use my normal vacuum because there were a couple of puddles around and the sawdust was pretty wet. My wife had gotten me a DeWalt DC515K 1/2 Gallon Cordless Wet / Dry Vacuum for Christmas but I had not tried it out yet because honestly I thought it would just be too weak to handle the kinds of messes that I normally make, I am pretty good at making a mess. However this time I was in a bind, it was late on a Sunday, stores were closed, and my wife was coming home soon. So reluctantly I got out my DC515K and started in on my mess. "WOW" is all I can say this little cordless vacuum really packs some power. I had my floors clean and dry in no time, even quicker than I could have done with my old wet/dry because I did not need to go hunting for a plug or dragging around a huge bucket on wheels. The battery lasted through both my house and garage and still has power left. Needless to say this now has a place front and center on my bench and is getting plenty of use. The ability to just pick it up and clean a spot or two without all the fuss of cords, hoses and buckets just can't be beat. This is without a doubt one of the best gifts that can be bought for any guy with a workshop.
