The primary advantage of the DeWalt DC9181 18 Volt Lithium-ion battery is that for a given voltage, they are small in size and weigh less than nickel cadmium (NiCd) and nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. Lithium-ion does not mean more power, lithium-ion provides an ergonomic benefit as the batteries offer a better power-to-weight ratio compared to other battery technologies.
