Nice saw, shame about the mitre
By Keith Miller from Trinidad and Tobago on June 7, 2014
As a hobbyist this is almost ideal. I have been using it to build cabinets in teak and mdf, it handles both well. Could not use it for anything larger. The mitre that comes with it is as good as useless, I have just ordered a better one at a cost of another $50.
Works well on a variety of materials and has full safety features.
The mitre that comes with the saw is useless.

The 745 has matured.
By Rich from Rhode Island on November 20, 2013
Very satisfied with DeWalt's newest evolution in their 74 series. They upped the motor speed by a 1000+ rpm and it really shows in the edge finish. Not that they were not upfront about the included blade (24t) but it is an insult to the balance of the saw package, kind of like buying a new car with an almost empty gas tank. Fast set-up and great thought put into the onboard storage. 5 stars with a higher quality blade and a dust bag (even as an option). Kudos to DeWalt on the 7480!
rip fence, accuracy, cut speed, cost.
24 tooth
42 cranks to max 90
no dust bag

10 inch; HD portable table saw
By Larry from Bath, Pennsylvania on November 17, 2013
I love the size weight of this saw very easy to move around. Has plenty of power and capacity. I like that the table top has a non stick surface which makes it safer to use. This is a well thought out tool and has very good quality.
Size, weight, capacity and good quality. The rip fence was well thought out to. This is an excellent tool.
That there is no place to store the miter gauge, I have a real problem keeping them from getting damaged or misplaced. Other wise I would have given this saw 5 stars.

I would recommend this item to a friend.

Ripping; Crosscutting
1. Fence : - It is perfectly aligned with the blade, rack & pinion adjustment, extension to 24;.
2. Weight : - It is extremely portable .
3. Attachments : - All are out of the way.
4. Electric Motor : - Lots of power to handle the heaviest cutting job.
5. Blade : - Cuts like a; hot knife through butter;. The best I have used.
1. Table : - The material covering the metal table is starting to wear off. The saw may be returned for this reason.
2. Mitre Gauge : - Who designed this piece of junk? A table saw is simple for it is designed to cut with the grain & against the grain. The engineers who designed the mitre gauge forgot cutting against the grain completely for the mitre gauge is made of a very small piece of plastic attached to a piece of tubing. There are no holes in the head to screw attach an extension piece of wood. The mitre gauge slot in the table will not take after market mitre gauges. The complete mitre gauge design is dangerous; an absolute joke. I would not be surprised if there is a recall on the saw because of this very dangerous problem. I should know because I have used table saws for 50 + years. I would like to talk to the designers of this saw.
