Empire Level and Tool Company known by its ever popular blue and silver color scheme is considered a staple in almost all toolboxes and industries, the modern day level has taken on numerous changes. The Empire Level company is credited with inventing the modern level back in 1919. Mr. Henry Ziemann, a master carpenter, founded the Empire Level Corporation and within three years, his modern day level was invented with interchangeable and replaceable vials. Since then, the vials are not replaceable but they hold more than 30 patents on their other invented products; such as top read levels, interlocking t-squares and the snap-in vial. Empire has its own line of customized levels, called True Blue, that are certified to be accurate to within .0005". They come in multiple different lengths, such as the E70-24, E70-48 and E70-72. Over time, Empire has kept the corporation in the family, culminating with the 2003 naming of Jenni Baker as CEO; a 5th generation family member.
