Excalibur 40-200C
By Doug B from New Mexico on September 17, 2014
One of the best tool purchases I've made in quite some time. It is more a shaper than a router table. The router lift is perfect and precise adjustments are a piece of cake. It is time consuming to put together ,I think with cleaning
the packing grease off it I had at least six hours in it. I bought this after reading Rolland Johnson's review in Fine Woodworking Mag ,I agree with his take on it .

Fit and finish
Dust collection is superb.
Fence is simple to use, flat and square
you got to play with the feet to get the adjustment right and the swivel caster carrier was tough to get adjusted just right , and the manual doesn't have much detail about it

High quality router table and accessories
By Tom from Greenfield, IN on May 13, 2014
The difference in made in Taiwan; vs ;made in China" is very apparent in this precision-crafted router table. Everything fit perfectly right out of the box, and even the assembly hardware is high quality nuts and bolts. The table is massive and perfectly flat, and the dust collection system is heavy gauge steel, no plastic parts even in the vent. The fence likewise is solid and easy to set up, and even includes precision offsets for jointing. And the lift mechanism is massive and adjusts with precision. Even the packing that the unit shipped in was excellent -- no worry about bent parts or other shipping damage.
Massive, precise, easy to assemble
Long wait to get one

Router Table
By George Adams from Merrimack, New Hampshire on May 8, 2014
Assembly of the item took about 4 hours and was almost flawless. The only issue was aligning the holes of the caster supports which went together better after I loosened them and aligned the holes in a different sequence. The rest was perfect. While the table is very heavy it is possible to bring it safely to the upright position with a single person with a bit of thought. The features of the table are very good.
Aligning rence, rugged router lift with top access to the adjustment, good dust control.
Offer the stop and feather boards at time of sale so they can be easily selected. Perhaps change the on off switch to a speed control.

Robust and well designed
By cgw from New Mexico on April 26, 2014
I purchased this Excalibur 40-200C router table and lift largely based largely on Roland Johnson's review in Fine Woodworking. I have not been disappointed by the end result. it is ruggedly built and well designed. Adjusting the fence is easy and the dust collection allows essentially nothing to escape.

To be complete, I need to mention that I had a problem with the first one that I received. The table top and router lift top plate were both out of flat by a few thousands when measured with a precision straightedge and feeler gauge. I contacted Excalibur and received excellent support from Pat Magro. He took me through few a few steps to diagnose and attempt to resolve the problem, but when that ultimately was unsuccessful, Pat shipped a new table top and lift. So now, in some ways, I have the best of both worlds -- a router table that is near perfect and also the confidence that the manufacturer will stand completely behind their product if difficulties arrive. I'd recommend this product to anyone.

Rugged, well designed.
Wheels could roll a little better

Excalibur 4-200C Deluxe Router Table kit
By Dean from Michigan on April 13, 2014
After receiving the 4-200C deluxe router table kit, it took me most of my Saturday to properly assemble and set it up. The item arrived in multiple boxes, with separate instructions in each box for that item. I wish I had opened the box with the complete instructions in one booklet rather than use the separate instructions from each box. It would of made it easier. The instructions are written ok, but I did find a number of mistakes (or design changes?) that did not match the hardware. As a mechanical engineer with many years of experience, I easily bypassed these instruction issues and was able to complete the assembly. I purchased a Porter Cable 7518 router along with the Router table and the installation went smoothly. A few small issues with the router table, the magnetic latch that holds the router box door closed is not strong enough, so the door easily opens. If you push too hard on the caster pedal to raise the table, the caster will get pushed under the unit, requiring you to lift the table to get the trapped caster out from underneath. Pushing with the right amount of effort is easily learned so it does not happen again. I have not found a 4" to 2.5"duct reducer that readily fits on the unit without modification. I was able to modify a reducer found at Woodcraft, but had to use tape to keep it from falling off, since the duct branch from the fence reduced the amount of OD that the reducer can slide onto. Providing a optional duct reducer would be a great feature for this problem! Hopefully the Excalibur marketing people read this! My first routing with the unit provided excellent results. The cast iron table was very flat and the weight gave the unit great stability. Having a friend help you lift the cast iron top during assembly would be great, but I was able to do it along without injuring myself (it's very heavy). The dust extraction was great, leaving almost no chips to vacuum off the floor. I would not buy any quick change chucks for the router since raising the chuck above the table and using the wrenches to change a bit is very easy and quick. I would definitely recommend this router table with the cast iron top to any wood worker who wants a great router table for their shop. I would of given 5 stars if the pivoting caster, dust door and vacuum duct issues were solved.
great routing quality, cast iron weight provides stability, great dust collection, easy bit changing with router lift. on/off switch is easy to reach.
pivoting caster, magnetic door latch is weak, need duct reducer to 2.5" option.

Excalibur 40-200C Router Table
By David from Cary, NC on March 18, 2014
Fast shipping, excellent customer service, easy to put together, the quality of this router table is excellent, solid construction. I expect many years of service from this table and it beats that table top table 10 to 1. I expect many more tools to be purchased from Tools-Plus.
The instructions for putting it together was very good, This is the best router table I have seen, easy to adjust.
I would purchase additional zero tolerance inserts for the various size router bits you use when you buy the router table..

Good upgrade
By Kelly from Richmond, VA on March 9, 2014
The Cast Iron top, Lift, Fence, and dust collection kit were excellent, best I have used. The stand and wheel assembly was the only element that I felt was a bit lacking. No height adjustment and since the legs were limited to M10-0.7 threaded, no easy method to add casters (could not find any rated stem casters with M10-0.7 threads. Also the stand has some racking issues that were solved by adding some anti-racking elements.
Flat Cast-Iron tabletop
Beautiful and easy to use lift for my 7518 miotor
Fence is great, easy to use
Best dust collection system I have used
Stand and wheel assembly
Actual lift plate should have been thicker, probably 6mm thick, to make leveling adjustments less sensitive

One Very Well Designed Router Table, Fence and Lift Kit!
By Mike from Destin, FL on March 6, 2014
The phrase "some assembly required" is certainly applicable here, but the well written manual (not included, but available for download at the manufacturer's web site) clearly laid out the steps of assembly. Each of the kit's 5 components (stand, dust collection box, cast iron table, fence and lift) arrived in a separate reinforced box (stand) or double box (table), and piece parts within each box were often individually wrapped in protective plastic. An exploded view drawing, parts list and the required assembly hardware was included in each box. Assembly was time consuming (5 afternoons) but enjoyable, and with the downloaded manual in hand was completed without complications. A Porter Cable 3.25 HP router motor was easily fitted in the lift. This is a high quality system for the serious woodworker. Highly recommended!
This robust router table/fence/lift system design is flawless. The integral mobile base and dust collector are welcome additions. Separate fittings are provided for hanging the lift wrench, throat plate wrench, and router collet wrenches.
Minor cosmetic damage - including one scratch at either end (0.75" to 1.0" long and just deep enough to be felt with a fingernail) that were in line with the center line of the cast iron table and small scratches in the paint on the stand's lower front cross member that bears the name "Excalibur". This likely occurred during shipment given the table's outer box was somewhat damaged but the inner box seemed fine.

Excalibur Router Table
By Gary Eifler from Corpus Christi, Texas on January 5, 2014
If you are looking for a top of the line router table, this is the one for you. I ordered my Excalibur in September and got it the end of December due to it being on back order. Tools-Plus is one of the few on-line retailers that actually sells the Excalibur. Heather at Tools-Plus was very nice and kept me informed through email on shipping status. The 40-200C comes complete with everything you need (except the router). It comes in several boxes so plan to spend the better part of an afternoon putting it all together. Although I felt the plans were a little general everything went together flawlessly. Fit and finish on every part is perfect. This is a very high quality tool. I checked the table top for flatness (I have the cast iron model) and it was true to within two thousands (.002). The four post router lift works smoothly and the router clamp is very secure. The router clamp is designed for a large diameter router motor and in-fact they recommend the Porter Cable 7518. If you use a smaller diameter router motor (3 1/4 or 3 1/2) you will need to order the optional clamp sleeve. Check your particular router and be sure to order the correct sleeve if needed so you don't have to wait to enjoy using your new table. The stand is very sturdy and the casters are a real perk. This table is heavy (great for vibration) but the caster system makes it a breeze to roll around.. The fence is the best fence I have seen on a router table. The Excalibur is not cheap, but if you want a table and lift system to last a lifetime this is the one for you.
Fit and finish are perfect.
Instructions could be more detailed.
