  • Low oil shutdown protection turns the unit off rather than risk damage to the engine
  • Provides 6,500 watts of power for emergencies or outdoor events and runs for 10 hrs at 50% load
  • Steel fuel tank features a fuel gauge so you can tell the amount of fuel that remains at a glance
  • Tough wheels and locking, fold-down handle makes the generator extremely portable
  • 1.25" hardened steel tube frame offers protection from physical damage
  • Low tone muffler allows the generator to be seen, not heard
  • OHV engine lasts much longer than competitive engines because it is built to be used with generators

Anyone that knows anything about generators knows that they cannot be used indoors. Oftentimes when the power gets knocked out, the weather outside is pretty bad. Rain or snow can get into exposed outlets and damage them beyond repair. Luckily Generac has a solution with the GP6500 Portable Generator. The 5940 features outlet covers and circuit breakers, more than enough protection to keep your generator running in all weather conditions. It supplies 6,500 watts of power when you need it most, and runs for up to 10 hours at 50% load. Dangerously low oil levels can spell disaster for the generator's engine. Luckily it features a low oil shutdown system, which shuts the unit off rather than let it get damaged. Speaking of which, its OHV engine is made specifically for generators, which means its performance is better and more reliable. This Generac generator is protected from physical harm by the 1.25" hardened steel tube frame. If you don't like the hills to be alive with the sound of the GP6500 chugging along, you'll be grateful for the low tone muffler. Don't trust any other company to get you through hard times but Generac.
