What gives a cabinet table saw its name is that its stand, which rests on the floor, is essentially a cabinet. These saws give you the same power and capacity as an industrial table saws but are meant for the commercial market. Variations of these machines include tilt table and sliding table saws. A tilt table means that the arbor of the saw can tilt allowing for miter or bevel cuts, while the wood remains flush against the table. Sliding tables are normally only on larger table saws and work by allowing you to move the table top, with the stock still in place on it, back and forth. This makes it easy to move heavy stock across the blade.
