Porter Cable started in Syracuse, New York in 1906 originally manufacturing mechanical pencil sharpeners. the company soon expanded to the power tool market and established itself as the finest name in handheld routers. In the 1960s, Porter Cable Tools was purchased by Rockwell International and sold under the same name in conjunction with Rockwell where it continued to offer innovative and well-built tools such as the Porta-Plane, SawBoss, and their famous routers. Since then, Porter Cable re-emerged under the same name with new tools, but with the same quality, introducing their 890 series of routers in the 90s. Porter Cable offers the finest routers and dovetail jigs, as well as many other tools, to help you get the job done faster, easier and better.
