Great price for A fantastic tool

By Steve from Salisbury, md on June 3, 2012
Have been using the standard Stanley Low Angle Block plane and thought it to be an indispensable tool for woodworking. Had seen reviews of the Sweetheart line and kept wondering how much better it could be. With prices typically around $100 never made the change. At more than $30 less than elsewhere, combined with the free shipping promo, decided to give it a try.The feel is so much more substantial, the tool quality is beyond expectations, and the out-of-the-box performance has been so good I wish I had gotten this plane when I saw the first review.
Pros:
Performance, quality, the feel of the tool while using it.Cons:
Took a while to figure out the best set up initiall. Once done, it's a cinch. A little more direction in the instructions on adjusting the lever would have been helpful.I would recommend this item to a friend.
Exactly what I was looking for

By Rob M from Mandeville, Louisiana on May 14, 2012
First I would like to say that I received my plane very quickly. Right out of the box, I put it to work on a piece of red oak. I was shaving end grain with very little chatter in nice, thin curls. After a little work on the wet stone, this little block plane is now unbeatable. I think it looks pretty good too. I definitely recommend this tool and you're not going to beat this price unless you steal it.Pros:
Looks good, good weight to it, comfortable feel, works great as long as you can sharpen an ironI would recommend this item to a friend.

Tuned the blade and christened it on a table repair job. It held its edge, didn't migrate and shaved some very nice thin slices. Keep this one locked up and don't let the grandchildren play with it.Pros:
Quality constructionCons:
Easy to lose a grip if you are not paying attention.I would recommend this item to a friend.

Regardless of what any tool snob tells you, cost is secondary to performance and this plane performs right out of the box. A little honing and you're ready to work. Great little plane at a great price. I expect to get years of service out of this thing.Pros:
